There is a massive recall in UK and Ireland on any Ford with the 1.8TDCI unit at the minute, something to do with the salt on the roads corroding the cooling fan module causing it to overheat and go up in flames. I am new to this forum and diesel engines, so be gentle. I recently bought a 59K miles 2008 1.8 tdci Mondeo est. All fine until last week, will turn car over, starts first/second time with no drama. I generally drive about 500 yds, turn the engine off and walk my son to school. When I return ten minutes later, to drive on to work, the car won't

1. replace one injector (No.3) but all reaserch shows that the others will go as well 2. Replace all 4 injectors 3. Used reconditioned Injectors - Although these could all be from the crappy siemens batch that is faulty to start with and nearly the same price as new 4.
